Daily flights to Minneapolis are coming to Saskatoon in the spring.
According to the Saskatoon Airport, WestJet’s service between the Bridge City and Minneapolis will be increased from three flights a week to daily flights between April 28 and October to accommodate the high demand for summer travel.
“As we continue to expand Saskatchewan’s transborder service through affordable and accessible air travel options, we are thrilled to enhance our exclusive service between Saskatoon and Minneapolis with daily connectivity this summer,” John Weatherill, WestJet’s executive vice-president and chief commercial officer, said in a statement.

“This route has been met with strong demand and we look forward to it continuing to stimulate vital business and tourism opportunities on both sides of the border.”
Stephen Maybury, the airport authority’s CEO, said the increased service was made possible through the support of the Saskatchewan government as well as WestJet.
Maybury said nonstop service to a major American hub means Saskatchewan travellers will be able to connect to flights around the world.
“To grow our local economy and provide jobs for our people, it is imperative that we connect Saskatchewan to the world, and this is another step forward in achieving that goal,” Jeremy Harrison, Saskatchewan’s trade and export development minister, said in the same statement.
“By making travel to and from our province more accessible, we will expand tourism and investment opportunities, as people take note of what we have to offer.”
