Four people are facing a multitude of charges after an arrest late Thursday in Saskatoon.
On Friday, police said patrol officers stopped a vehicle around 11 p.m. in the area of Wiggins Avenue South and Ninth Street East in the Varsity View neighbourhood.
“As officers approached the vehicle, they observed an injured woman in the back seat,” police said in a release. “Continued investigation found that the woman was assaulted with a knife and had her life threatened by the four other occupants of the vehicle.”
After an investigation, two men, aged 53 and 60, and two women, aged 31 and 41, were charged with assault with a weapon, uttering death threats, extortion, and kidnapping with intent to confine.
Officers also found cocaine in the possession of the 31-year-old woman, so she was charged with possession of a controlled substance. The 60-year-old man also was charged with breaching court-imposed conditions.
