A 16-year-old Saskatoon boy was arrested on Saturday after allegedly pulling out a fake gun after he was confronted for shoplifting.
According to police, the teenage shoplifter was confronted by an employee at a business on 22nd Street West on Saturday evening when he pulled out a gun and fled.
Officers later spotted a boy matching the suspect’s description near the corner of 22nd Street West and Avenue W North.

The boy was arrested and found to be carrying an imitation firearm. He was also wanted on numerous outstanding warrants, police said.
The boy – who can’t be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act – is facing charges of robbery, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and carrying a concealed weapon.
