Saskatoon police are asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect in the shooting death of a 33-year-old man in the city on Dec. 14.
On Wednesday, police released a photo and video footage of the suspect, who was walking southbound on Witney Avenue towards 21st Street West. Investigators believe the suspect entered a house in the area at around 1:30 a.m.
Police said the man was wearing a dark jacket, light-coloured pants and dark shoes.
According to a media release from the time of the shooting, investigators believe the victim got into what they called “a confrontation” with a man that ended in the victim being shot.
“At this time, it does not appear they were known to each other,” the release said. “Another man was with the victim at the time of the incident but he was not injured.”
Residents in the area of the 2700 block of 21st Street West were asked to check their home surveillance videos between midnight and 3 a.m. on Dec. 14 to see if they captured anything.
Anyone with information about the suspect or the shooting is asked to call Saskatoon police at 306-975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
