The Saskatoon Fire Department responded to a fire Saturday morning that had a garage and a power pole ablaze.
The fire department received a call about a vegetation fire at 5:30 a.m. on Jan. 6.
One fire engine was dispatched to the fire, but the responding fire crew reported seeing the flames from the blaze en route as they crossed the bridge to respond. The response was then upgraded with additional crews dispatched.
A detached, single-car garage and a power line were engulfed in flames.
The electrical company was notified to disconnect service at the pole. Fire crews extinguished the fire defensively with tactical duties assigned to all incoming fire crews.

Saskatoon police are working with the fire investigator on the case. The cause of the fire remains undetermined at this time and damage from the fire is estimated at $35,000. No injuries have been reported.
