Rock 102 held its annual Coats for Kids in support of Care & Share Saskatoon on Saturday.
Hundreds of winter coats and accessories were dropped off and raised $10,368.
Rock 102 and 650 CKOM host Mark Loshack is one of the Care & Share’s board members and was at Saturday’s collection.
Loshack tells us how the success of this year’s campaign and the community’s donations help.
“I love being part of this event every year and seeing the community come together. Saskatoon really helped by collecting thousands of winter items and raising over $10,000,” said Loshack. “We all know how harsh Saskatchewan winters can be, that’s why it’s so important for every child to have proper winter clothing, this is going to make a huge difference in the lives of so many local families.”
This is the 20th year Rock 102 has put this on and more than $360,000 has been raised with more than 27,000 coats and accessories donated.
All donated winter items will be distributed to children in Saskatoon elementary schools through Care & Share from October 23 to 27.
