An intruder allegedly broke a window and entered Regina police headquarters early Wednesday morning.
According to police, the 51-year-old man was seen in the lobby of the building on Saskatchewan Drive at about 3 a.m. He was arrested, police said, and sustained an injury to his arm after allegedly trying to resist. The alleged intruder was taken to hospital for treatment, police said.
As required by The Police Act, Regina officers informed Saskatchewan’s Serious Incident Response Team about the incident. An investigator has been assigned to monitor the investigation, police said.
The alleged intruder remains in custody, police said, and charges are pending.
Police headquarters was temporarily closed during the investigation, but has since reopened to the public.
