Human remains were found in a home near Meadow Lake after a fire on Wednesday.
According to the RCMP, officers were called to the home about 45 kilometres south of Meadow Lake for a reported fire. The blaze was already extinguished when officers arrived, but police said human remains were found at the scene.
The remains have not yet been identified, police said, and RCMP officers are working with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service to determine the identity.
“As we are in the preliminary stages of this sudden death investigation, this is the only information we can provide at this time,” the RCMP said in a statement.
“Updates will be provided as soon as possible.”
