A 51-year-old Saskatoon woman walked to police headquarters on 25th Street East early Thursday morning to report that she’d been stabbed.
According to police, officers were called to a business on Third Avenue North where they learned that a confrontation between two women had ultimately led to a stabbing.
“The victim, a 51-year-old woman, had left the scene and walked to the SPS HQ a short distance away seeking assistance; she was attended to by police before being transported to hospital by paramedics for further treatment of what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries,” police said in a statement.
Police said the suspect in the case, who also is a 51-year-old woman, stayed at the business after the alleged stabbing and was quickly arrested. She’s now been charged with aggravated assault.
“The stabbing is not believed to be random in nature,” police added.
