Four people – including a 12-year-old boy – are facing serious charges after a pair of stabbings in Saskatoon on Tuesday night.
According to police, officers got two separate reports of stabbings in the 200 block of Avenue R South on Tuesday.
Officers were called at around 6:40 p.m., and the victims, a 51-year-old woman and a 56-year-old man, were both taken to hospital. The victims’ injuries weren’t considered life-threatening, police noted.
A police canine unit soon tracked down four people who matched descriptions of the stabbing suspects on Avenue V South.
“A physical altercation ensued with one of the suspects who refused to comply with the officer’s directions,” police said in a statement.
“A second suspect attempted to interfere in the arrest by using a dog to threaten the police officer. Eventually all four suspects were taken into custody without further incident.”
A 12-year-old boy, a 14-year-old boy, a 17-year-old girl and a 27-year-old man are each facing two charges of aggravated assault, police said. The 12-year-old was also hit with weapons charges related to bear spray, while the 27-year-old was also charged with obstruction.
