The RCMP is probing two fatal crashes that occurred Wednesday on Saskatchewan highways.
A 23-year-old woman from Swift Current is dead after a crash between a car and a semi south of that city. The other crash, a rollover that occurred near Cedoux, claimed the life of a 17-year-old boy from Francis.
According to the RCMP, the car-semi crash happened at about 4:45 p.m., on Highway 4 about one kilometre south of Swift Current.
Police said the driver and lone occupant of the car was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. The driver of the semi — the only person in that vehicle — didn’t report any injuries to police.
The Swift Current Rural RCMP is continuing its investigation with the help of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
The Mounties said the rollover occurred at around 12:50 p.m., on Highway 35 near Cedoux.
Paramedics pronounced the teen dead at the scene. He was the only person in the vehicle.
The Weyburn RCMP is investigating that crash.
The families of both victims have been notified.
