A 23-year-old man is facing an assault charge after allegedly swinging a knife around inside a Saskatoon restaurant.
According to police, officers were called to a restaurant on 21st Street East on Saturday at about 4 a.m.
“The callers stated that a male had entered the restaurant and began swinging a knife, threatening to harm individuals inside,” the Saskatoon Police Service said in a statement.
According to police, there were eight patrons inside the restaurant at the time.
The man with the knife took off before officers arrived, and no one was injured.
The suspect has been identified by not arrested, a police spokesperson said, and is facing a charge of assault.
