A 59-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man are facing charges after police in Saskatoon broke up what was called a “dial-a-dope” operation.
That term is typically used by police to describe drug trafficking schemes in which customers place orders by phone for delivery.
According to police, officers conducted a traffic stop last Thursday that led to search warrants at homes on Candle Way and Taylor Street East.
At those homes, police said officers found and seized 17 guns and 2,000 rounds of ammunition, along with 237 grams of cocaine, three safes, about $28,800 in Canadian cash, about $2,800 in American cash, and drug trafficking paraphernalia including digital scales.
The 59-year-old woman has been charged with trafficking in cocaine, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000, and “numerous firearms-related offences.”
The 39-year-old man was also charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
