The Saskatoon Police Service’s bomb squad is at a laboratory on the University of Saskatchewan campus for what police called “an incident involving hazardous materials.”
According to police, the Explosive Disposal Unit was dispatched to a lab in the 10 block of Innovation Boulevard, and the road has been closed to traffic. The nature of the incident was not disclosed.
Police asked the public to avoid the area and follow directions given by officers at the scene.
“There is no risk to public safety, at this time,” police noted. “An update will be provided when the scene has been cleared.”
