Police in Saskatoon have arrested one of two women wanted in connection with a homicide.
Officers were called to a home on Avenue H in the early afternoon of June 10, when they found the wounded victim – a 35-year-old woman. She was taken to University Hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Police said her death was being treated as a homicide, the city’s fifth of 2023, and police noted the suspects and victim “appear to be known to each other.”
Two women — Telsa Morin, 37, and Linda Sutherland, 42 — are already facing charges of second-degree murder in connection with the woman’s death, and are set to appear in court again early next month.
On Monday, police said two other women were also considered suspects in the case, and one of them – 32-year-old Tanya Faye Desjarlais – was arrested Wednesday in Saskatoon. She’s now facing a charge of manslaughter, police said.
Police are still searching for 20-year-old Jayden Faith Morin. She was described as 5-foot-8 and 140 pounds. She has numerous distinctive tattoos, including “Morin” on her left forearm, “J.G.” on her left hand, flowers on her right hand, a rosary on her left wrist, a broken heart near her left eye, a cross on her right cheek, and a tear drop near her right eye.
Anyone with information that could help locate Morin was asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
