The Saskatoon Baseball Club is working on a new name before its inaugural season, and it needs help selecting the winning moniker.
The team will play in the Western Canadian Baseball League starting next season. Earlier in June, it asked the public to submit their ideas for names.
On Wednesday, the team unveiled the top 10 names submitted by Saskatoon residents, and the ultimate winner will be decided by a vote.
The person who submitted the winning name will receive a season ticket for life, the team said in a social media post.
The top-10 name suggestions are:
- Saskatoon Berries
- Saskatoon Blues
- Saskatoon Bridge Pigeons
- Saskatoon Cobra Chickens
- Saskatoon Pelicans
- Saskatoon Prairie Dogs
- Saskatoon River Pirates
- Saskatoon Sluggers
- Saskatoon Smores
- Saskatoon Sturgeons
Votes can be submitted through the team’s online survey.
