Police in Saskatoon are searching for two women who are considered suspects in the killing of a 35-year-old woman on Avenue H South earlier this month.
Two women — Telsa Morin, 37, and Linda Sutherland, 42 — are already facing charges of second-degree murder in connection with the June 10 death, and are set to appear in court again early next month.
On Monday, police announced that two more women are also considered suspects in the case.
Police were called to a home on Avenue H in the early afternoon where they found the victim hurt. She was taken to University Hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. Her death was immediately treated as a homicide, and police noted the suspects and victim “appear to be known to each other.”
Officers are now searching for 20-year-old Jayden Faith Morin and 32-year-old Tanya Faye Desjarlais, police said.
“While their current location(s) is unknown, they are believed to be in Saskatoon,” police said in a statement.
Morin was described as 5-foot-8 and 140 pounds. She has numerous distinctive tattoos, including “Morin” on her left forearm, “J.G.” on her left hand, flowers on her right hand, a rosary on her left wrist, a broken heart near her left eye, a cross on her right cheek, and a tear drop near her right eye.
Police said Desjarlais stands 5-foot-8 and weights 155 pounds. She has a tribal design tattooed on her left hand, along with a rose on the right side of her neck and praying hands on her left upper arm.
“If you have any information on the location of Jayden Faith Morin or Tanya Faye Desjarlais, please call the Saskatoon Police Service at 306-975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477,” police said in a statement.
The death was Saskatoon’s fifth homicide of 2023.
