A 77-year-old woman from the George Gordon First Nation is dead after a two-vehicle crash Thursday near Southey.
The RCMP said Monday the collision between a northbound SUV and a southbound semi happened north of Southey on Highway 6 at about 2 p.m.
The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. The passenger from that vehicle was taken to hospital with injuries the Mounties described as non-life-threatening.
The driver of the semi wasn’t hurt.
The Southey RCMP is investigating the cause of the crash with the assistance of a collision reconstructionist.
