8:30 – It is becoming clear that the Federal government can’t get it straight on foreign interference from China. Documents from the government that were supposed to detail the potential interference and shared with the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs no longer exist. Brian Lilley, a columnist for the Toronto Sun, joins Taylor to explain why the government is saying no documents exist.

10:00 – The Royal Regina Rifles have a campaign underway to erect a statue to remember them for storming the beaches of Normandy. This is part of Canada’s more significant event to mark the 80th anniversary of the invasion in 2024. Ed Staniowski, a retired lieutenant-colonel with the Royal Regina Rifles, joins Taylor from Juno Beach to discuss the campaign for the statue.

10:30 – Several places have issued fire bans as wildfires burn across many parts of Canada. This has put plans to enjoy summer camping on hold. Kevin Callan is a Canadian wilderness guide and author. He joins Taylor to explain what you should know and be prepared for if you plan to camp with a fire ban on.

11:00 – New warning labels will be printed directly on cigarettes, announced by Health Canada. There will be a set of six warnings you will see on cigarettes as well as new health warnings on packages taking up a minimum of 75% of the display area. Rob Cunningham is a lawyer and Senior Policy Analyst with the Canadian Cancer Society. He joins Taylor to discuss if the warning labels will impact consumers.
