The Hate Crime Unit of the Saskatoon Police Service is investigating an alleged assault from early Tuesday morning.
Police said officers were called to a hotel on Idylwyld Drive shortly after 4 a.m., for a report of a woman being assaulted by two other women outside the building.
“Upon arrival, police learned the two suspects had also made derogatory comments about gender,” police said in a statement.
Police said two women, ages 33 and 41, were arrested at the scene and now face charges of assault.
The 43-year-old victim didn’t sustain any serious injuries, police said.
“Due to the nature of the investigation, the Hate Crime Unit is continuing to investigate,” police added.
