Traffic lights were holding up some drivers in Saskatoon on Friday afternoon, but not because they weren’t synchronized.
Police said a semi-trailer unit crashed into a light standard in the area of Circle Drive East and Idylwyld Drive North, knocking it into lanes of traffic.
“Westbound traffic on Circle Drive East has been reduced to one lane while eastbound traffic has been reduced to two lanes; some north and southbound exits from Idylwyld Drive North onto Circle Drive East may also be affected,” police said in a media release.
“Traffic restrictions are expected to remain in place for several hours.”
Police said drivers should try to find a different route until the traffic restrictions were lifted.
