Saskatoon City Hall was evacuated Tuesday shortly before noon after a report of a suspicious package.
On Wednesday, police said the package was “a small box, addressed to someone inside.” Police said that because the box had “an atypical appearance,” employees erred on the side of caution and alerted police.
Officers created a perimeter around the building and the Explosive Disposal Unit was called in to examine the package. Ultimately, the officers confirmed the package didn’t contain any hazardous material and was not a threat.
“We won’t be able to confirm much about what was inside, other than the package contained an item that was deemed not dangerous to public safety,” a police spokesperson said in an email to 650 CKOM on Wednesday.
