A Saskatoon construction company is paying up after failing to pay out four employees.
In a media release Monday, the Ministry of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety said Grandview Homes Ltd., pleaded guilty March 16 in Saskatoon Provincial Court to four violations under The Saskatchewan Employment Act.
According to the ministry, the company and its corporate director were charged Sept. 2, 2021 for failing to pay wages to four people within 14 days of the end of their employment.
The ministry’s release said that, after the guilty pleas, the court fined Grandview Homes Ltd. $2,000 plus a $800 victim surcharge on each of the counts, for a total amount of $11,200.
