Elk Ridge will soon be home to a new playground, showcasing the best of northern Saskatchewan and honouring one of its greatest supporters.
“It’s called ‘Papa’s Forest Adventure,'” said Ryan Danberg with Elk Ridge Resort. “It really encompasses the northern forest with the treetops.”
On Monday, a ceremony was held to officially announce the future playground at the Resort Village, less than an hour from Prince Albert.
The project is a partnership with Elk Ridge, the Loraas family and Routes 2 SK. The playground will be created to honour the legacy of Terry Loraas.
“Terry Loraas was a big advocate for the Elk Ridge Resort, and with his passing, his family wanted to make this project happen,” the Resort Village said in a news release. “He was a special man, and loved to see people smile, and we can’t wait to see the smiles on this newest addition to Elk Ridge.”
The playground will be a brand new, state-of-the-art play structure, which will feature swings, slides, and climbing walls while keeping an atmosphere of fun play, nature, and adventure at the forefront.
“We’re doing everything in our control to have this project built prior to our PGA Canada tour event on June 19,” Danberg said. “This playground is going to be a legacy playground for many, many people that visit northern Saskatchewan to enjoy.”
