Dawn Walker will be back in court in April.
Last summer, Walker disappeared along with a young child, and the discovery of her abandoned truck in a park close to the South Saskatchewan River prompted a massive search effort. The two were found safe two weeks later in Oregon City by American law enforcement.
Walker is now facing charges including abduction in contravention of a custody order, forging a passport, and possession of forged documents. She pleaded not guilty to all nine charges in January, electing to take the charges to a trial in provincial court that is expected to last three weeks.
Walker’s matter did not end up going before a judge Thursday, after a closed-door case management hearing decided the appearance would be pushed back for ongoing case management.
Crown prosecutor Tyla Olenchuk said another case management hearing for Walker has been scheduled for March 29, but it won’t be open to either the public or media.
Walker’s next open court appearance was scheduled for April 5.
