A 30-year-old woman was severely burned Tuesday after a man allegedly assaulted her with boiling water.
According to police, officers were called to a home on Avenue R South at about 11:30 p.m., when they found the woman suffering serious burns. She was taken to hospital in stable condition, police said.
After investigating the alleged assault, police arrested a 29-year-old man at the same home. The suspect and victim know each other, police noted.
The man has been charged with aggravated assault, police said.
