Police were busy in the Warman area in January.
According to a media release Monday from the RCMP, officers from the Warman and Martensville detachments and Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan officers from Maidstone, North Battleford, Rosetown, Saskatoon and Prince Albert handed out 130 tickets and 211 warnings in the area during the month.
As well, four people were charged with impaired driving offences and one roadside driving suspension was issued.
The tickets included 69 for speeding, 13 for distracted driving, one for not wearing a seatbelt, 10 for unregistered vehicles, one for an unregistered trailer, and 22 for vehicle equipment violations (including 10 for cracked or damaged windshields).
The warnings included 64 for speeding and four for distracted driving.
“Warman RCMP, along with Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan, are out working every day to keep our roads safe,” Staff Sgt. Jason Teniuk of the Warman RCMP said in the release. “We thank members of the public that drive safety and considerately. We also thank those who have contacted police to report impaired drivers.”
