A 79-year-old woman is dead after a house fire in Saskatoon early Monday.
According to police, officers responded at around 1:30 a.m., to a call about a house fire in the 2000 block of 37th Street West in the Westview neighbourhood. The officers tried to find residents of the home, but it was engulfed in flames.
Firefighters subsequently put out the fire and found the woman’s body inside the house. They believe she was the only occupant of the home.
The investigation is continuing, but police and fire officials don’t believe foul play is involved.
