RCMP officers in northern Saskatchewan are investigating the murder of a 34-year-old man.
According to the RCMP, officers were called to a home in Pelican Narrows in the early hours of Wednesday morning, when they found an injured man. He was rushed to hospital by paramedics, police said, but was declared dead shortly after.
The man was identified as Dalton Linklater, a resident of Pelican Narrows. His family has been notified of the death, police added.
The investigation is being led by Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes, and an autopsy has been ordered by the Saskatchewan Coroners Service. The RCMP said the man’s death was being investigated as a murder.
“Investigators are conducting witness interviews and examining the scene to create a detailed picture of the incident,” the RCMP said in a statement.
“Residents can expect to see an increased police presence for an undetermined amount of time as police investigate the incident.”
Anyone with information on Linklater’s death was asked to contact the RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
