Two people were attacked with a knife and bear spray Tuesday evening, and Saskatoon police have asked the public for information that might help track down the perpetrators.
Police said the attack happened in the 1100 block of Idylwyld Drive North around 6:30 p.m.
“It was reported to officers that several suspects were shouting at the victims as they got off a bus,” police said in a statement. “The victims were then bear sprayed and attacked with a knife.”
Police said a meat cleaver was also found at the scene.
The victims were a 36-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man, police said. Both were taken to hospital after the attack with injuries that police said were serious but not life-threatening.
The suspects took off before the officers arrived on the scene, and police asked anyone who might have information that could help identify the perpetrators to contact police or make an anonymous report through Crime Stoppers.
