Saskatoon police say “several” people are in custody following an armed robbery early Friday morning.
Police said a man and a woman were sitting in a vehicle parked at Avenue F North and 37th Street shortly before 6 a.m. when they were approached by a man armed with a gun who demanded money.
“After reporting the incident, the male victim was approached by a second male suspect, threatened with a shotgun and physically assaulted,” police added in a statement.
The police Crisis Negotiation Team and Tactical Support Unit ultimately surrounded a nearby home. A number of people left willingly when instructed, police said, and a man and woman were arrested inside after police obtained a warrant.
Nobody was injured, police said, adding that more information on the incident will be released after the investigation is complete.
