Firefighters are battling a large structure fire in the 1400 block of Avenue H North in Saskatoon, and the fire department asked everyone to avoid the area if they can.
Firefighters were called to the scene shortly after 1 p.m., and the response included three fire engines, a ladder truck, a rescue unit and the battalion chief.
When they arrived, firefighters saw flames and smoke coming out of the building’s windows and eaves, and firefighters entered the building as more crews worked from outside.
There was no word on any injuries from the fire, but the fire department asked the public to stay away.
“Stay safe, avoid the area if possible and give firefighters room to do their work and extinguish the fire,” the fire department requested in a statement.
“Respect hose lines. Do not drive over them as this restricts water flow and can damage our fire hose.”
A fire investigator has been dispatched, and the fire department said an update will be issued at a later time.
