Police in Saskatoon seized more than eight kilograms of methamphetamine after searching two homes last week.
They also seized numerous weapons, body armour and other drugs.
According to police, officers executed search warrants at homes on Streb Way and Hampton Circle on Dec. 16. Two men, both age 33, were arrested during the searches, which turned up a huge trove of drugs and weapons including 8.5 kilograms of methamphetamine.
Also seized, police said, were 7.3 kilograms of cannabis and THC products, a few grams of cocaine, multiple handguns, a sawed-off shotgun, a rifle, a loaded shotgun, several pairs of brass knuckles, body armour, a machete, ammunition and drug paraphernalia.
The two suspects are now facing more than 70 charges, and police said more could be coming, as officers also discovered a collection of tools and six vehicles valued at more than $100,000.
An additional investigation is now underway by the police service’s Break and Enter Unit to determine if any more charges are warranted.
