The holiday’s are a week away, and they are sure to be full of high-tech gifts.
Tech journalist Marc Saltzman spoke to CJME and CKOM’s John Gormley on Monday to share some of the hottest technology this holiday season. Saltzman said he’s seeing some health and lifestyle items becoming more prominent this year, including items like fitness watches and portable massage guns.
He said there is a more premium and health-focused Fitbit watch available this year.
“It helps you better understand and improve your overall health and well-being,” Saltzman said.
“It can help you manage stress. It also has a built in ECG electrocardiogram to see your heart info on an app and can analyze heart rhythm, and can alert you to any issues,” he said.
Saltzman said there are lots of great options out there for the people who enjoy video games. Items that extend digital storage are always a good idea for gamers, Saltzman added.
“You can add more games without having to delete one that you still want to play, which is a decision a lot of gamers have to make,” Saltzman said.
Additionally, there are some great PC monitors that are well-priced, including one that is on sale for $189.
There are some laptops that are popular this year, Saltzman said, advising buyers to look out for an Intel EVO sticker. He said that’s an indicator of long battery life, powerful performance and fast WiFi.
“That basically certifies that the laptop meets certain criteria; it’s kind of like best of the best,” Saltzman said.
