A new advancement in Canadian technology named All3Innovation LP was announced Monday.
The business was created through three partnerships: Birch Narrows Dene Development Inc. (BNDDI), MMKL Group Inc., and Superior Strategies.
All3Innovation LP will provide technologies to contribute to mining, industrial and commercial sectors in Saskatchewan and Ontario.
What sets the business apart is that a majority of the business is indigenous-owned through the BNDDI and Superior Strategies partnerships.
According to a media release, the business will utilize robots instead of humans in environments that are unsafe and help clients improve performance.
Anthony Clark, the CEO of BNDDI, says the two First Nation entities will plan to unveil the technology products.
“To have a way to roll those technologies out to our clients through indigenous partnership I think is pretty unique,” he said.
He said the Birch Narrows community, which is located in northern Saskatchewan, has a young demographic and this will provide them with the ability to work with these technologies.
Mark Hinz, the CEO of MMKL Group Inc., says innovation is also what separates them from other tech companies. He noted it will create meaningful employment opportunities for indigenous communities at all skill levels.
Jason Thompson, the owner of Superior Strategies from Ontario, says as an indigenous business owner, he is seeing steps towards reconciliation.
“Reconciliation now, there’s some meat to it, it’s not just words anymore,” he said.
The business is still in its early stages. Clark said they are focusing business on Saskatchewan and Northern Ontario for now, but there is the possibility of expansion to other provinces.
