Saskatoon man facing murder charge after 20-year-old woman found dead

Police in Saskatoon have charged a man with murder in connection with the death of a 20-year-old woman.

Police were called to a home on Avenue P South on Tuesday just after 8 p.m., when they found the body of 20-year-old Nykera Brown. The death was deemed suspicious, and police said two people — a man and a woman — were detained for questioning.

On Wednesday afternoon, police announced a 25-year-old man had been charged with second-degree murder in connection with Brown’s death. The suspect and the victim were known to each other, police said.

The case remains under investigation by officers with the Major Crimes Section, but police noted that at this stage, investigators are not looking for any additional suspects.

Police did not disclose the name of the accused.
