10:00 – Last winter was a nightmare for anyone who depended on Saskatoon city transit. There were dozens of bus breakdowns, route cancellations, and buses out of service for prolonged periods of time. Transportation and construction GM Terry Schmidt and transit director Jim McDonald blamed supply chain issues, but the city’s auditor found a different reason. According to the report: “The main reasons for the service disruptions include ineffective operations of stores in Transit, ineffective governance processes, and an ineffective preventative maintenance program.” The city’s auditor, Sohail Saleem, joins Taylor to discuss the audit.

10:30 – The City of Saskatoon’s Standing Policy Committee on Environment, Utilities, and Corporate Services met on Monday to discuss what direction they will take following the receipt of the City Auditor’s report. Committee Chair and City Councillor Bev Dubois joins Taylor with more on what the committee decided.
