8:30 – What was once a church in Saskatoon’s Fairhaven neighbourhood, will soon become home for people transitioning out of the Saskatoon Tribal Council downtown homeless shelter. The former church at 415 Fairmont Drive will have 106 beds and is set to open on November 15. Saskatoon Tribal Council Chief Mark Arcand joins Gormley to tell us more about the new emergency shelter partnership with the province.

9:30 – The new homeless shelter announced on Friday is in Councillor David Kirton’s ward. We hear from Councillor Kirton about the feedback he has been hearing so far from people living in the Fairhaven neighbourhood.

10:00 – Author Ted Barris joins Gormley to discuss his latest book “Battle of the Atlantic: Gauntlet to Victory”. The setting of the story is from 1939–1942 and is about Canada’s longest military engagement of the Second World War. Out of the books published by Barris, more than half of them are about war history. He joins Gormley to talk about the inspiration behind this book.

11:00 – It’s Halloween! Trevor Allen, with Allen Family Light, has an amazing Halloween light show and display in the Lakeridge neighbourhood in Regina. Tonight’s the big night for his light display and they’re expecting upwards of 800 trick-or-treaters! He joins us with more on the work that goes into his light show every year and how much his candy bill has increased with inflation!
