Saskatchewan RCMP blocked eastbound lanes of Highway 16 on Sunday morning as part of an investigation.
The closure began at Maymont with detours taking drivers along a grid road and through the community.
While the RCMP did not specify what type of investigation was underway in its statement at 10:15 a.m., it explained there was no risk to public safety.
The traffic restrictions were lifted Sunday just before 6 p.m. The RCMP said it would provide details about the investigation on Monday.
Maymont is located about 50 kilometres southeast of North Battleford.
