Police in Saskatoon seized drugs, cash and shotgun shells after officers stopped the vehicle of a suspected drug dealer last week.
According to police, officers stopped the 27-year-old man’s vehicle on Fairmont Drive last Thursday. Police described the stop as “high risk,” and said officers with the Tactical Support Team were called in to help.
The driver was arrested, police said, and officers found cocaine, methamphetamine and cash inside the vehicle.
“Investigators were then authorized to search a residence in the 1900 block of 22nd Street West,” police said in a statement. “Officers seized ammunition, additional methamphetamine and cocaine, and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.”
All told, police seized 461.7 grams of methamphetamine, 31.1 grams of cocaine, 174.1 grams of a cocaine/meth mixture, $7,690 in cash, 40 packages of cannabis extracts, shotgun shells, and drug paraphernalia.
The suspect is now facing a list of criminal charges related to drug trafficking and weapons, police said.
