People in Saskatchewan looking to get their flu shots can now book appointments.
Spots are now available for vaccinations, which are to begin next Tuesday at public health clinics, local pharmacies and the offices of some physicians and nurse practitioners.
People aged 65 and over are eligible to receive the Fluzone High-Dose influenza vaccine this year. Previously, that vaccine was only offered to residents in long-term and personal care homes.
As well, people can book vaccinations for the whole family in one appointment through the Saskatchewan Health Authority’s online booking tool. Individual and group bookings also can be made by calling 1-833-727-5829.
Residents can book appointments to receive their flu and COVID-19 vaccines at the same appointment if they so choose.
Children aged six months to five years can only be immunized at a SHA public flu clinic or a public health office, or by a physician or nurse practitioner. Only select physicians’ offices are to offer flu and/or COVID shots.
Some Saskatchewan pharmacies are offering flu shots to anyone aged five and up.
