There are still opportunities for campers to spend time in some of Saskatchewan’s provincial parks this fall and into the winter.
From Saturday through March 15, select campsites in some provincial parks can be reserved online at a discounted rate with reduced services.
In October, 13 provincial parks — Blackstrap, Buffalo Pound, Cypress Hills, Duck Mountain, Echo Valley, Good Spirit Lake, Greenwater Lake, Moose Mountain, Pike Lake, Rowan’s Ravine, Danielson, Douglas and Saskatchewan Landing — will accept online reservations for select campsites.
From Nov. 1 to March 15, online reservations will be accepted for winter camping in some sites at Buffalo Pound, Cypress Hills, Duck Mountain, Echo Valley and Pike Lake provincial parks.
“Campers should note that services will be reduced,” the Saskatchewan government said in a release. “Each campsite will have a note on the reservation site notifying what services are available, such as electricity, water, sewer or pit toilets.”
From Saturday to March 15, rates for nightly electric sites will be $29 per night, nightly non-electric sites will go for $16 per night, and Camp-Easy sites can be booked at a rate of $80 per night.
Between Nov. 1 and March 15, reservation and camping fees will be refunded for unused nights if reservations are cancelled because the temperature reached -26 C or below with wind chill during a camper’s scheduled stay, or because campgrounds or campsites can’t be accessed due to natural disasters, road closures or other park-related emergencies.
Starting Saturday, annual vehicle entry permits will be available for $40. Those permits expire April 30 and can only be used for the remainder of the current season.
