People in Saskatoon will be running and walking along the river valley Saturday in support of good mental health, and a few traffic restrictions will be in place during the event.
According to the City of Saskatoon, the Traffic Bridge will be closed between 11th and 19th streets from 5 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saskatchewan Crescent will also be closed between Broadway and Taylor Street from 5 a.m. until 1 p.m.
The city reminded drivers to watch out for pedestrians Saturday, as there will be plenty of people participating.
Anyone who wants to join the five- or 10-kilometre walking or running event can register online. All the fees collected are matched by Cameco and then donated to the Cameco Fund for Mental Health, which is administered by the Saskatoon Community Foundation.
In the past three years of the event, more than $1.2 million has been raised to help with mental health projects and programs in a number of communities around the province.
