10:30– You may have heard of nurse practitioners. NP’s are registered nurses who have completed additional training and education to be able to diagnose and treat illnesses. Tara Schmalenberg, president of the Saskatchewan association of nurse practitioners tells us about her role in the healthcare field.

12:00 – Ukrainian university student applied for a research internship in Canada last fall, and now lives in Saskatoon and applying her expertise through the Mitacs Globalink Research Internship Program to solve Canada’s honeybee shortage. Her work has included her learning the role of a beekeeper which involved transferring honeybee larvae from field colonies into a Saskatoon lab. Sarah Wood, an associate Professor at the University of Saskatoon has also been working with Sofiia on this project, they both join Gormley to tell us more.
