Police with Saskatoon’s Crime Reduction Team arrested three people this week, seizing a huge trove of drugs and weapons in the process.
Police were investigating a 37-year-old man suspected of drug trafficking on Wednesday, and arrested him in a parking lot on 11th Street West along with a 32-year-old Saskatoon man and a 31-year-old Martensville woman.
Police seized a wide assortment of drugs and weapons during the investigation. The weapons included a sawed-off .22-calibre rifle — which was loaded when it was seized — along with ammunition, brass knuckles, three canisters of bear spray, two knives and a telescoping baton.
The investigation also yielded almost 400 grams of crystal methamphetamine, cocaine in the forms of crack, pills and powder, fentanyl, unidentified pills which were sent for lab analysis, and drug trafficking paraphernalia.
Officers also seized four cellphones and $4,455 in cash during the bust.
The trio is now facing more than 40 charges related to the drugs and weapons, police said.
