The search for a man who went missing while swimming in Last Mountain Lake came to a tragic end Tuesday.
In a media release, the RCMP said the 71-year-old Regina man had been found dead in the water at Pelican Pointe.
According to an earlier release, the Southey RCMP got a call Monday at about 4:45 p.m., about a swimmer in distress.
Officers from the Lumsden and Southey RCMP detachments, STARS air ambulance, local fire and rescue personnel, and civilian boaters searched the area, but didn’t find the man. The Saskatchewan RCMP’s Underwater Recovery Team joined the search Tuesday.
