Saskatoon Fire Department (SFD) dealt with a structure fire in the early hours of Saturday morning.
It happened at 5:27 a.m. on the 100 block of Avenue I South. First arriving fire crews saw a single storey duplex on fire.
Three fire engines, one ladder unit, one rescue unit and the battalion chief responded to the scene.
According to a release, the structure was reported vacant at the time of the fire. There were no reported injuries to civilians or firefighters at the scene.
Firefighters began attacking the fire at 5:38 a.m. before having it under control shortly after at 5:47 a.m. Searches were done on both sides of the building to make sure nobody was injured in the fire.
A fire investigator has concluded the investigation and has deemed the fire suspicious. The investigator found that a rear door was broken into with the fire starting on the main floor in a closet.
The total damage is estimated at $150,000.
Saskatoon Police Service will continue the investigation moving forward.
