The province still isn’t out of the woods for severe weather this long weekend.
Some severe thunderstorms are expected for the central part of the province this evening and overnight Monday into Tuesday.
Danielle Desjardins, meteorologist with Environment and Climate Change Canda, said the main threat of tornados is in Alberta for the night, but said severe storms coming to the province could be possibly paired with wind gusts and heavy downpours.
Sunday’s weather warnings resulted in hail across the province, Desjardins said.
Stuart Valley was hit the worst, with baseball-sized hail. Evesham, Saskatchewan Landing and Eatonia all received golf-ball-sized hail.
The hail in Flaxcombe was closer to the size of nickels, and near dime-sized in Herbert. Moose Jaw saw hail about the size of marbles.
Desjardins said there weren’t any tornados to touch down in Saskatchewan on Sunday, but one did touch down in Alberta near Coronation in the late afternoon. No damage has been reported from that weather event.
