Environment Canada issued several weather alerts Friday, warning about high heat and severe thunderstorms.
The heat warnings are in effect for the areas around Lloydminster, Meadow Lake, and the Battlefords.
Severe thunderstorm warnings were issued for the areas around Melfort and Prince Albert, while thunderstorm watches were put into effect for Meadow Lake and the Battlefords.
A warning means severe weather is imminent or occurring, while a warning means conditions are right for severe weather to develop.
In addition to the alerts, a special air quality statement was issued for Île à la Crosse, due to wildfire smoke drifting into the province from northern Alberta.
The latest information on the weather alerts can be found on Environment Canada’s website.
