Environment Canada issued heat warnings for parts of western Saskatchewan on Thursday.
The heat warnings cover Lloydminster, Meadow Lake, the Battlefords and the surrounding areas.
According to the weather service, daytime high temperatures are expected to exceed 30 C, but a cold front crossing the region Friday is expected to bring cooler temperatures and some relief along with it.
Environment Canada advised residents to watch out for signs of heat stroke and to check in on older family, friends and neighbours. Elderly people, children and those with chronic illnesses are at higher risk, as are those who are working or exercising outdoors.
The latest alerts can be found on Environment Canada’s website.
